Øya and Music Export Norway brings Lucy Swann and Team Me to London.
Øya Festival is delighted to announce two special London shows in February with their friends at Field Day and Club NME, featuring a mix of both hotly tipped Norwegian and UK acts. New Nordic talents Lucy Swann and Team Me will join Fiction and Not Squares at the two shows at London’s XOYO on February 24th and KOKO the following night.
Additionally, Øya has teamed up with Rough Trade to release a limited edition 7” single. The double a-side will feature Lucy Swann and Team Me and be available from February 7th exclusively from Rough Trade. This project is done in collaboration and supported by Music Export Norway´s London office.
Øya and Field Day are AIF Twin festivals. Based on the twin towns concept, festivals are paired with likeminded and similarly structured festivals from countries from around the world. Participating festivals will help promote their twin’s festival locally.
About the acts:
Lucy Swann
Oslo born Lucy Swann has distinguished herself from the the rest of the pack by her expressive vocal abilities and her strong live performances. In 2010 she released her critically acclaimed debut album “La Petite Mort” which saw her compared to the likes of Kate Bush and Beyonce. Aftenposten (top Norwegian broadsheet) extolled her to be “…one of the freshest, catchiest voices in Norwegian pop music in a very long time.”. Lucy is also set to play the Brighton Great Escape Festival this year.
Team Me

If you believe bloggers and journalists all around the world, Team Me is one of the hottest newcomers of 2011. It all started out as an accidental success when Marius D. Hagen and his private, little side project Team Me ended up in the finals of NRK P3´s (Norwegian National Radio) Best new band/song contest. The band are set to play Great Escape this year.
