By: Larm is behind us, and true to tradition, Music Export Norway was heavily involved in the international program.

This year, more than 300 international industry professionals and representatives of the press made the trip to Oslo to attend hundreds of concerts, seminars and various events tailored for networking between Norwegian and international delegates.

The main event in the international program was undoubtedly the Speed Meeting sessions, conducted in collaboration with by: Larm for the fifth consecutive year. The aim of this event, where participants during two days carry out 24 short meetings, is to create a forum where Norwegian music industry can effectively expand their network of contacts, and discover new potential partners.

There were many familiar faces from previous years, but also a handful of new participants. One of these was Lars Øgreid from Spoon Train.

- As a relatively new player on the international level, I think the speed meeting sessions was a great way to be introduced to the international industry. We have had an immediate benefit from the event through gig offers in London and Berlin, he says.

Lounge and Øya party

Music Export Norway was also hosting an international lounge at the conference hotel. The lounge served as a meeting place between Norwegian and foreign by: Larm-participants, where the delegates could continue discussions from the speed meeting sessions or meet the people who did not participate in the speed meetings.

Friday the Øya festival held an afternoon party at Tilt in cooperation with Music Export Norway. At the party artists Mathias Eick Quartet and The Megaphonic Thrift performed in front of a packed venue, including international visitors.

 Intimate concert

As part of the international program there was a mini concert with Susanne Sundfør in the Vigeland Mausoleum. The event was a secret surprise, and both the press and industry delegates were eager to attend. As part of the experience the audience had the chance to taste dried reindeer heart and aquavit.

Susanne Sundfør manager Kenneth Andersen was extremely pleased with the concerts:

 - It was a very magical thing. We have received several inquiries from international delegates after the appearance at the Mausoleum. People were speechless, and grown men wept silently during the concert, he says.

One of the international participants was Canadian Darryl Sterdan. On his blog you can read what he thinks about the experience. Also, Stereogum and Lydverket  have reviewed the concerts.

In summary, by: Larm 2010 was one of the best events in the series, and Music Export Norway would like to thank all participants who made it a memorable experience.
