by Webmaster, 27.05.2010
Siri Narverud Moen has been hired as head of Music Export Norway's new office in Berlin.
About two years ago Music Export Norway opened its first office abroad, in London. The aim was to strengthen the relationship between the Norwegian and British music industry, as well as being a helpful contact for Norwegian exporters who want to focus on the British market.
Music Export Norway has received great feedback on the UK office, and we are now establishing a similar office in Berlin. The office will have responsibility for Norwegian music export efforts aimed towards the German-speaking markets, Germany, Switzerland and Austria (GSA).
Music Export Norway is pleased that Siri Narverud Moen has agreed to lead the new office. Moen has long and extensive experience in NRK, both as a music journalist, host of Urørt and reporter in Germany for NRK radio.
- The job as responsible for Music Export Norway's efforts in the German-speaking market will be extremely fun and challenging. Especially with regards to to the interest in Norwegian culture and music in Germany, says Moen.
Through the UK office Music Export Norway has cooperated closely with the Norwegian Embassy in London. Head of Press, Information and Cultural Affairs at the embassy, Stein Iversen, is positive to a similar office in the German capital.
- Music Export Norway's London office has become a professional and efficient driving force for the Norwegian music scene in Britain. A similar office in Germany will open many doors to Europe's largest market. This is a model that brings results, says Iversen.
Inger Dirdal, Managing Director of Music Export Norway, is looking forward to opening the office in Berlin.
- Siri has a background that makes her well suited for this position, and we look forward to having her as a colleague, says Dirdal.
