Get ready for JA JA JA

The JA JA JA club night aims to grow a strong independent platform where new "export ready" artists are able to showcase their music to key British music industry professionals, media, tastemakers and punters alike. The club night is promoted at a central London venue with a good PA; The Lexington.

Background
The Nordic region has a long tradition of punching way above its weight on the international music scene. Throughout decades they have been fostering wealth of innovative music talent to great international recognition and acclaim. JA JA JA wants to draw attention to this hotbed of talent on a monthly basis. The high concentration of industry professionals and international media in London makes it an ideal location.

Artist submission and selection process
Each night will feature specially invited British curators who will program final line-up. Artist submissions from the various Nordic countries will be reviewed by the respective export offices that will produce a shortlist based on "export readiness". NOMEX have defined "export readiness" as an artist who has professional industry set up (manager, label, agent etc) behind them (domestic and/or British) and/or a growing momentum (industry and/or media buzz) in the UK. It is important that you draw attention to this through your Sonicbids EPK. The guest curator will then select hers/his favourite 3 artists from the shortlist for the night.

Artist submissions are valid for multiple club nights - over a 6 month period from the opening of submissions - and bands will not have to re-submit material, once submitted. If there are important updates, i.e new material or a sudden increase in "export readiness", artists are to update their Sonicbids profile and let their respective Export Office know.

The line-up for the launch party on November 19th will be as follows:

- I Was A King (Norway)

- TV Off (Finland)

- Francis (Sweden)

The launch party was curated by Huw Stephens of Radio 1.

Friday 4.December 2009 - Submission deadline for: JA JA JA February Club Night (25.02.10)

*Submission deadline for JA JA JA nights in March and April 2010 (date TBC) will be announced shortly.
