Folkelarm approaching

Music Export Norway coordinates the international program of Folkelarm 2010. 24 international delegates from 15 countries participate.
Folkelarm is a music festival and industry event with the mission to promote and introduce Norwegian folk artists to the Norwegian and international folk and world music industry. Folkelarm was held for the first time in Oslo in 2005 and has since become an annual event.
Folkelarm 2010 is being held at the new Riksscenen from September 9 - 12. More than 80 artists from 23 groups and soloists are invited to play at this year's Folkelarm. During the three days a total of 47 showcases will be performed. Nearly 100 Norwegian delegates and 40 international delegates will attend the event.
In addition to concerts the following events will take place:
- Workshops and seminars for artists and delegates
- Fair / stand area for artists and delegates
- A tailored program for international delegates produced by Music Export Norway
- Folkelarmprisen (Norwegian Folk Music Award)
- Cooperation with the Ultima Festival
Music Export Norway coordinates the international program of Folkelarm 2010, where 24 international delegates from 15 different countries participate. This program includes networking events, guided tours and showcases by artists such as Eplemøya, Sver, Transjoik and Majorstuen.
- As a result of the cooperation between Folkelarm and Music Export Norway, the international program will strengthen both the export-oriented work for folk and traditional music and the recognition of Folk music's unique position, says project manager Øyvind Skjerven Larsen of Music Export Norway.
