Classical:Next is initiated by CLASS, the association for classical independent labels in Germany, produced by WOMEX, the leading expo for world music and supported by the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich. The first forum will take place in Munich's Gasteig from Wednesday, 30 May through Saturday, 2 June 2012.

This new forum aims to establish an event that will address head on the challenges facing the international classical and art music community, both in its entirety and within its various sectors. Classical:Next will also serve to promote new talent, new creative ideas and future-oriented business practices. Munich, one of Europe's most active and important classical music locations, offers a fitting setting for intensive engagement with classical music's present and future.
