About Music Export Norway

Music Export Norway is an organization established in 2000 by the Norwegian music industry. We provide access to information on Norwegian artists and companies. In addition, we assist the Norwegian music industry by organising international trade show participation and presentations designed to increase the worldwide awareness of Norwegian music.

The five organisations behind Music Export Norway are IFPI Norway, FONO - the Norwegian Indepgendent Record Companies Association, NOPA - Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists, GramArt (the Recording Artists Association) and MFO - Musicians Union.

The company's aim is to be a service- and resource centre for exporters of Norwegian music products. Primarily the company shall concentrate its work on strengthening Norwegian music products of commercial value.

The company shall prepare international export activities and participate in seeking possibilities for exporting Norwegian music products by attending international music tradeshows, conferences, Internet presentations etc.

When suitable the company shall seek to co-operate with related organisations and institutions that normally will use music in their marketing.

Music Export Norway A/S is the official organiser of national stands at the music tradeshows Midem in Cannes, France and Popkomm in Berlin, Germany.

May 1st 2008 Music Export Norway opened its first international office in London. The UK office will coordinate MENs activities in the UK and related markets. The office works closely with the Norwegian embassy in London and Innovation Norway.
