Groningen January 14-1622 Norwegian artists ready for Eurosonic 20102010-01-05 During this year's Eurosonic Festival the main focus will be on Norwegian music. A total of 22 bands and artists will contribute to a Norwegian music invasion in Groningen. Eurosonic Noorderslag has become one of the largest and most important music industry festivals for the live market. 120 festivals and 3000 delegates participate during Eurosonic, while 250 bands participate through showcasing. - This is one of the best opportunities for artists and bands to market themselves towards concert and festival bookers, says Managing Director of Music Export Norway, Inger Dirdal. An important element in Eurosonic is the European Talent Exchange Program (ETEP). The intention is to promote Norwegian bands and artists through festivals, radio and media in Europe. The fact that all the largest festivals attend Eurosonic makes it an even more attractive place for showcasing. International stepping stone As a result of the Norwegian focus, a considerably larger amount of Norwegian bands and artists have the opportunity to play. This year's focus on Norwegian music is a result of a close co-operation between Music Export Norway and Eurosonic. For bands such as Kaizers Orchestra and Casiokids, Eurosonic has been an important international stepping stone. 22 bands and artists will be participating during this year's Eurosonic festival. This year these bands and artists will be playing: Audrey Horne (www.myspace.com/audreyhornemusic)
