250 guests celebrated Music Export Norway’s 10 year anniversary in Oslo.
December 1st, Music Export Norway celebrated its 10 year anniversary with a big party at the venue Ingensteds in Oslo. Around 250 guests, including a wide range of music industry professionals and high-profile politicians, joined the party.
Master of ceremonies Arnfinn Bjerkestrand started off by introducing industry legend Barry Matheson, the first Chairman of Music Export Norway, who took the audience on a trip down memory lane.He also introduced the young and exceptionally talented pianist Christian Ihle Hadland, who performed compositions by an artist who has exported Norwegian music for more than 100 years, Edvard Grieg.
Speeches from the Minister of Trade and Industry, Trond Giske, and State Secretary Halvard Ingebrigtsen followed, as well as the second musical performance of the evening. This time from singer/guitarist Monica Heldal, an up-and-coming talent from Bergen.
Present Chairman of the Board, Jørn Dalchow, introduced the Music Export Norway staff, before State Secretary from the Ministry of Culture, Lubna Jaffery, introduced electronica artist Lindstøm, who was awarded Music Export Norway’s first three-year Export Program in November. With a short set, Lindstrøm demonstrated why he has become a respected player in the international electronica scene.
We would like to thank everybody for making this a memorable event, and we look forward to the next 10 years!
